Discover West Sussex hospitality

We have a brand new menu and a newly refurbished bar and conservatory.

The George Inn is a traditional 16th Century Coaching Inn situated in the beautiful village of Felpham, West Sussex. We are open for drinking Tuesday to Sunday and serve food lunchtime Monday to Wednesday and from 12 noon to 8.00pm Thursday to Saturday. Sunday roast is available 12 noon until 4.00pm.

Every week our menu offers a selection of Chef’s Seasonal Specials including fresh fish, Steaks, Surf & Turf and delicious vegetarian/vegan options. This is complemented by our popular menu of nibbles, sandwiches, baguettes, wraps, salads, sharing platters, burgers and home-cooked Pub Classics.

On Sundays we serve our popular roast dinners with all the trimmings between 12 noon and 4.00pm. Come and join us!

We are pleased to announce socially distanced drinking and dining in our two bars and three designated dining areas, as well as in our large, secluded and beautiful Secret Garden. We now have three pods available in our garden, each seating up to four people. These are available to reserve in two hour slots for £20.

We have reduced capacity in all our Bar and Restaurant areas for your comfort. We recommend booking a table to ensure the safety for both our customers and staff.

We are child friendly, dog friendly, in fact we are very welcoming and friendly! If you are looking to host an event or celebration, we have a private function room for meetings, weddings, birthdays, christenings etc., complete with its own bar. Talk to Lesley.

Good seasonal food, homemade pub classics, real ales and a well-stocked bar. We would love to see you!

Visiting Us Update

Firstly a huge thank you to all our customers for their support, patience and kindness throughout these strange times from the first lockdown in March 2020.

Since then we have worked hard at making many improvements both inside and outdoors to ensure our customers enjoy their visit while remaining safe and healthy.

There are big changes to government restrictions from Monday 19 July, however we feel that to ensure the continued safety of both our customers and staff we wish to take a more measured approach moving forward. This is especially important given the current uncertainty on how the pandemic progresses over the next few months.

Here at The George we are planning to continue wearing masks for all serving staff and we would hope where possible customers will continue to do the same when moving around inside the bars and restaurant areas.  At present, table service is still our preference; mask wearers may order and collect drinks from the bar, however standing and drinking at the bar is discouraged for safety reasons.

We are pleased to say that so far The George has not been affected by COVID cases and has been able to remain open. However, many others have not been so lucky and have been forced to close their doors and advise customers and staff to isolate. With this in mind, we hope you appreciate that we don’t feel it wise to put us all in a vulnerable position just yet.

We thank you again for your continued support and understanding and look forward to seeing you.

“Lesley and the staff make socialising at The George an absolute joy.”
